Most design problems come down to the font. We pick it because it looks nice, not because it fits the brand.

I put 31 free Arabic fonts in one file, each with its English sibling, grouped by the feeling they give. (The file is in Arabic.)

Grouped by feeling

  • "Trust me": serious and stable, for real estate, tech and banks.
  • "Don't be afraid of me": friendly, for kids and sweets.
  • "I'm expensive": premium and calm, for perfume, jewelry and fashion.
  • "Easy and clear": easy on the eyes, for websites, apps and text-heavy carousels.
  • "Handwritten": casual and local, for food and social campaigns.
  • "Loud": display fonts for headlines and posters only.

On every card

  • An Arabic and an English line set in the same font, so you see the whole family at once.
  • Its English sibling: a named family (like Readex Pro and Lexend) or the Latin built into the same font.
  • Its real weights.
  • Whether it works for headlines and text, or headlines only.
  • A download button to the font's Google Fonts page.

5 questions before you pick any font

  1. Sharp or rounded? Sharp says "trust me"; rounded says "don't be afraid of me".
  2. Even or changing stroke? High contrast says "I'm expensive"; an even stroke says "I'm easy and clear".
  3. Readable when small? If it turns into a blot, it's for headlines only.
  4. Does it have weights? Weights let the brand speak in more than one tone.
  5. Does it have an English sibling? Arabic and English from two families build two brands.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use these fonts commercially?
All of them are on Google Fonts under the OFL license, which allows commercial use. Check the font's page before a big project.
What does English sibling mean?
An English font from the same family, so Arabic and English look like one brand. Most fonts in the file include their own Latin; some have a named sibling, like Readex Pro and Lexend.
